FAQ - Website

From MusiCAD
Where can I find the 'old' website?
On https://musicad.com you can find the old (no longer maintained) website with the help information for version 4.0.
I can't find the forum anymore... What happened to it?
The forum is out of service due to outdated software and all the advertising (attempts). The wiki (this site) is more resistant to all the junk from malicious people.
Is the help information also available in another language?
Most topics are also available in Dutch: https://nl.musicad.eu
If a page is also available in Dutch you will see so that at the top right of a page.
Under [Help|Info] I get the message 'cannot connect to the MusiCAD web server' when I press the Check button. What should I do?
Try again another time. Due to various reasons, the server is sometimes overloaded and does not respond in time. The web server is restarted twice a day, after which everything works again.
The MusiCAD website is sometimes unavailable. How come?
As soon as a website becomes active on the web, hordes of good and bad sources (bots) immediately start knocking on all the doors. Even non-bad sources such as search engines that want to scan the site can result in a shut down of the site if they do so too fanatically. Expanding the server with more resources is of course possible, but that quickly becomes (too) expensive. If the server were only accessible to 'known people', search engines would no longer be able to access it, and that is precisely not the intention. The entire internet and server management is becoming increasingly complex: what was a great solution yesterday might be hopelessly outdated today...
Good ideas are welcome!
