How do I change the order of parts in my score?

In the part selection menu <F3> or [Score overview]. Then drag the part to the desired location or change the bar number manually.

When I create a new part, it appears below my previously created parts. How do I get a new part above it?

Create the new part, and change the order as in the previous question.

How do I put two parts in the same staff?

• First create a score of two parts.
• In the part overview go to the first part and raise all the sticks in the part with the button , or <shift->. you will see a red up arrow appear.
• Go to the second part and move sticks down with <shift-> or use . you will see a red down arrow appear.
• Give both parts the same bar number with the button

I have two separate parts in separate files. How do I turn them into a score?

• Open the second part [File|Open]
• in edit mode <ctrl-A> to select all
• with <ctrl-C> you put the entire melody on the notepad.
• open the first part with [File|Open]
• create new part to create a new part.
• In edit mode make sure you are in the empty part (possibly tap <Tab>)
• with <ctrl-V> you put everything on the notepad in the empty part.

How do I turn a part on/off in a score?

In the part menu <space> on the relevant part. You can also uncheck [part data|Invisible] in [part data|Invisible].

I want to extract a part from a score with the text/chords, etc. that are also in the first part. Is that possible?

Yes. Check score in Score overview. Turn off all parts except the 'text' part and the desired 'notes' part with <space> Choose the part that contains the texts to be included and uncheck text display under data . With <+> or <-> in the column below the bar you then place the text part in the same bar as the notes (bar number must be the same). Make sure that the batch to be printed is the first in the batch overview.

I want to extract a part from a score where the measure/line division must remain the same in all parts. How do you do that?

Select score display. Give all invisible parts that are not to be shown the attribute 'calculated'

If I extract individual parts from an orchestral score, the 'multi-rests' remain written out as individual measures of rest. What do I have to do to get them registered as multirust?

Deselect score view in the part overview. Only in single part mode multirust symbols are visible. During editing, written multi-rests in a score are marked with a staccatissimo sign.

I want to group a number of parts in a score with a brace. What do I have to do for that?

Enable the curly brace attribute in all parts that you want to provide with a curly brace. Enable the break barline attribute in the part where a new curly brace should begin (assuming that the barlines should not continue there).

How do I make a part consisting of only chord symbols (guitar part)?

Make sure that the chord symbols are written with the notes in the main part. Now create a guitar part with [Part|New part|guitar]. Make the no longer desired parties invisible under part|Choose Part with <space> and voilá!

Can I write down tablature?

Depends on the type of tablature...

You should be able to get by with the following recipe:

• Enter the 'normal' part first
• now create a rest at [Part|New|Rest]
• set [Number of lines] to the desired number
• check attribute [Part|Data|Bars invisible]
• uncheck attribute [Part|Data|Tickline break] also
• select everything with <ctrl-A> and make everything invisible <x>
• lyrics (numbers) can now be placed at the invisible rests (First set the horizontal position of the song lyrics to a convenient value) - Depending on the type of tablature, you will have to adjust this recipe.
