A number of test versions of a new program are usually released:

  • alpha version(s) - first attempts for a very limited group of testers
  • beta - generally usable version in which insurmountable problems still occur in a number of cases.

A beta version is a version of MusiCAD that is not yet completely 'finished'. More than 95% percent already has its final form, but there is still room for change. A beta version is usually the first version of a product that is presented to a somewhat broader audience in order to remove the most annoying errors from the program before everyone can download.

In a beta version, new problems will probably also occur due to new features...
